Raku Field Trip
Chicago, July 3, 2003 - The studio will be having two Raku Field Trip days, during the weekend of August 16th - 17th, 2003. Each field trip will be a day long event and will include discussions about raku and the glaze and firing of up to 3 pieces. Students must bring their own pre-bisqued pieces for the raku fire. The location will be just outside of Chicago (due to city codes regarding raku firing), so transportation must be arranged (two words: car pool). everyone will meet at the studio, and then leave in groups. The groups must be as large as 5 but no more than 10. Each student is encouraged to bring their own water, snacks and anything else they might need for a day outing. The trip cost $50 per student.
